2D
2D Ultrasound produces images and live footage in a 2 dimensional black and white view. It is commonly used in medical offices to check on the health and development of babies and their environment. It is used in elective ultrasound to check on heartbeat, determine gender and see movement.
We can do a 2D ultrasound anytime after 7 weeks, but did you know that between12-20 weeks you can watch your baby practicing skills like turning, wiggling, kicking, and jumping?

3D/4D
3D/4D Ultrasound shows contours of the baby's features in a 3 dimensional view, often with amazing clarity. Still 3D shots are captured from live 4D video.
You’ll be able to see yawns, blinks, and sometimes even smiles! The best 3D/4D images are captured at 26-32 weeks, but this type of ultrasound can be done anytime. We see moms that hydrate extremely well have the best chance of producing defined images. Increasing your water intake for about a week before your scan helps improve the clarity of the amniotic fluid, allowing us to capture your baby’s features with greater detail.
Gender Determination
Some parents want to be surprised at birth, and some find that knowing the gender early helps them plan and anticipate their little one’s arrival.

Heartbeat
Hearing and seeing your baby’s heartbeat is part of the ultrasound process, and it can be a sweet bonding experience and give reassurance.
Starting at 7 weeks, we can see and measure your baby's heartbeat. Starting at 13 weeks we can listen to it and even place a recording of your baby’s heartbeat in an adorable plush animal!
Our plush animals make for a great gift and a nice way to share the anticipation with the whole family, especially young siblings!
